After 13 years, Edward Kenway is setting sail once again. However, unlike previous entries in the series that received simple ports or remasters, Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is getting the "Full Remake" treatment under the title Resynced. Ubisoft emphasizes that while this is a faithful recreation—retaining its action-adventure roots rather than pivoting to an RPG—several modern upgrades drastically alter the experience.

The Power of Ubisoft Anvil: Rebuilt from the ground up using the same engine as Assassin's Creed Shadows, the visual leap is immense. While the environments of Havana and Nassau are more vibrant and detailed than ever, the character models have sparked some debate. The protagonists look significantly "cleaner" and more polished; some fans argue this diminishes the grit expected of 18th-century sailors and inadvertently makes certain narrative "twists" (like the identity of James Kidd) far too obvious.
Refined Combat Mechanics: One of the most significant changes lies in the gameplay flow. Moving away from the "one-man army" feel of the 2013 original, Resynced introduces a faster, more tactical combat system.
